Soil to Soul Symposium – From October 29 to November 1, 2025 – Charlemagne & Helferei Cultural Center, Zurich, Switzerland
The annual Soil to Soul Symposium takes place each autumn at the Karl der Grosse Cultural Center and the Kulturhaus Helferei in the old town of Zurich.
Here, consumers, restaurateurs, producers, and experts come together. Through engaging lectures,
courses, culinary experiences, and more, the event highlights the importance of our soil, nutrient-rich
foods, and their interconnected impact on the environment and human health.
What does a way of eating that nourishes both body and soil taste like? What happens when fermentation not only refines food but also strengthens our microbiome? How are chefs shaping the agriculture of tomorrow through conscious ingredient choices? And what role do farmers play in the fight against the climate crisis?
On October 29 at 6:30 p.m., Paul Luu, Executive Secretary of the international “4 per 1000” Initiative, and René Estermann, from the City of Zurich’s Office for Environment and Health, will open this symposium on the theme of “Soil, Climate, and Nutrition.”
