Forum, Consortium and Bureau

 

The Forum of Partners

The Forum of Partners is the forum for consultation, collaboration and partnership. It brings together organisations that are eligible to become partnersand that share the principles and objectives of the International “4 per 1000” Initiative.

The Partners’ Forum meets once a year, and also forms a digital community. It is organised into 5 colleges:

  • States and local authorities, international and regional organisations, development banks
  • Research and educational institutions
  • Agricultural and forestry producers’ organisations
  • Civil society organisations and non-profit foundations
  • Commercial or for-profit organisations

and 1 cross-cutting group, which brings together donors of all types.

The Consortiumof members

The Consortium of Members is the decision-making body for the governance of the International “4 per 1000” Initiative. The Consortium takes, by consensus, decisions on guidelines, policy, work programme, budget, recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Committee… The Consortium of Members is composed of countries and organisations eligible to become Members, with the exception of commercial or for-profit organisations.

It meets at least once a year on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Forum, but also at other times according to its own agenda.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Bureauof the Initiative

The objective of the Bureau is to provide the Initiative with a body to support and advise the work of the Chair and the Executive Secretariat, within the framework of the Initiative’s operational programme between two Consortium meetings. It also has a role in supporting and advising the Consortium and in facilitating the colleges of Partners and Members of the International “4 per 1000” Initiative.

It is made up of 13 members, of whom 8 are full members and 5 are alternates, including:

  • The President or a Vice-President of the Consortium
  • The President or a Vice-President of the Scientific and Technical Committee
  • The Executive Secretary or his/her representative
  • One (or in some cases two) Member(s) per Consortium College + 1 substitute.

    Full Member: Germany / Alternate Member: Argentina
  • International organisations, regional organisations or development banks
    Full member: FAO-GSP
  • Research and educational institutions
    Full member: IRD (France) / Laboratoire RadioIsotopes (Madagascar) / Alternate: Institut Sénégalais Recherches Agricoles (Senegal)
  • Agricultural and forestry producers’ organisations
    Full member: GCAN (International) / Alternate member: Demain la Terre (France)
  • Civil society organisations and non-profit foundations
    Full member: Acalode (Mali) / Alternate: GIERI (DR Congo)
