The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC – COP 30) will be released from 10 to 21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.

The international “4 per 1000” Initiative proposed three side events (to be confirmed) during COP30, one at the Agrizone and two at the French Pavilion.

The first on Agrizone on November 18 at 2 p.m. is entitled “Soil Carbon and Soil Health for the Future of Agriculture” and is co-organized by the International Research Consortium on Soil Carbon (IRC) and the international “4 per 1000” Initiative. The themes of this high-level roundtable will be Climate Adaptation and Resilience and Socio-Productive and Digital Inclusion.

The other two events (to be confirmed) will be held at the French Pavilion between November 19 and 21. The main theme of these two events is agriculture in the fight against climate change. One will offer a retrospective of the first decade of the “4 per 1000” Initiative through a presentation of the Initiative’s activities over the period, and testimonies from some of its partners and members.

The other, in the context of the 2050 Strategic Plan adopted in 2022, will focus on the priorities that the Initiative should address from the point of view of the different colleges that make up its network (countries, international organizations, producer organizations, scientific institutions, NGOs and businesses).
