2019: Workshop “Improved soil carbon, soil health and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management” – June 18-19, 2019 – Bonn

This workshop was in the framework of the UNFCCC’s Bonn Climate Change Conference in June 2019, under the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture of the SBI and SBSTA
Presentations from countries including Brazil, the Russian Federation and Senegal as well as the Global Soil Partnership and the UNCCD were held. All material and conclusions are available here. Claire Chenu, 4p100 STC member, made a presentation titled “Soil carbon: key to address vulnerabilities of agriculture to climate change and food security issues”.

A side event “Enhancing NDC ambition through soil organic carbon sequestration” was organized by the “4 per 1000” initiative, CCAFS and the University of Vermont and coorganized with Cirad, INRA and IRD.

The event is ongoing.
